More on LookSmart, Court Backs AOL

Here’s some more on the LookSmart Goes Pay-Per-Click story. A recent LookSmart press release suggests that their transition to a pay-per-click engine is wildly successful. They announced that they have signed up more than 8,000 businesses. Given that they had over 80,000 businesses listed before, the 8,000 number tells me that only 10% of businesses went along with the LookSmart plan. Now a law firm in California has filed a class-action lawsuit on behalf of LookSmart’s small business customers.
